A mixed methods approach of the draw and write technique (DWT), focus group and individual semi-structured interviews involving 5 teachers in a secondary school in a city in South-East England, exploring their beliefs regarding masculinity(ies) and how these influence their experience of teaching RSHE to boys. Using a process of thematic analysis 3 core themes were developed, indicating that the participants were aware of the changing landscape of masculinity and the challenges this posed for the boys they taught; they were cautious of community resistance to more inclusive masculinity practices and lacked the knowledge and confidence to embed this in their RSHE practice. However, they expressed an openness and strong desire to develop their knowledge and confidence to improve the experience of RSHE for both themselves, the boys, and indeed the girls they taught.
