Biography
Dr Martina Hutton is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Winchester. She has nineteen years teaching experience in higher education and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to academia, she held marketing management positions in the Healthcare, Soft Drinks and Telecommunications industries. Her research focuses on the application of political economy, egalitarian theory and psychological health constructs and methods to examine the stress effects of economic inequality, deprived consumption and marketplace exclusion. As an experienced qualitative PEFT researcher (Participatory, Emancipatory, Feminist, Transformative), she actively engages with diverse groups of people experiencing economic difficulties and the community stakeholders who represent their interests. Her research has received funding awards from the Association of Consumer Research, Sheth Foundation, the Academy of Marketing and the Irish Research Council for Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS). Her work appears in the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Qualitative Market Research and Consumption, Markets & Culture.
