Marie Haverly

Wedding and Event management, regulation of the industry and code of conduct usefulness. Marie is interested in exploring research in the area of event industry regulation and growing trends.

Marie Haverly is Programme Leader on the Event Management Programme and Lecturer in Project and Event Management. As a leading wedding and events expert, Marie has worked in the industry since 2004, from managing a busy wedding venue & hotel to running her own successful wedding & event planning business. She has a wealth of experience and interest in the events industry as a whole. Having worked at the University of Winchester since 2015, she enjoys passing on her knowledge and skills to those coming through the Event Management degree and also sharing her business growth knowledge with those wishing to become successful entrepreneurs or event owners.

Marie has been an award-winning wedding and event expert since 2005. She has been judge for the Wedding Industry Awards and tutor for the Blackford Centre of distance learning. Marie has planned and delivered over 600 events and trained new event planners to go on to hold successful careers in the industry.

Marie is monthly contributor to Bride magazine and Love our Wedding magazine. She recently authored her first book (forthcoming).
