Leaf Journal serves as a gathering-place for the knowledge and research generated by writers for young people. The journal is a repository for scholarly insights and knowledge gained by student-practitioners, or practitioners of writing for young people.

We publish practice-based, or practice-led articles, or articles where the study of children’s literature has a writerly application. Put simply, we mean that if, while writing or studying children’s books, you have noticed something which would be useful for other writers, you might decide to share that ‘something’ by writing a piece for us.
